The College Park Cares 5K Race wraps around tree–lined Lake Artemesia. This flat, USATF–certified course, features electronic timing and is designed for speed and setting personal records.

DETAILS

The race will begin and end on the Paint Branch Trail next to the Ellen Linson Swimming Pool. The course is mostly flat, designed for speed and setting personal records. Almost all of the course is well covered by trees and runs along a path next to and within Lake Artemesia Park. Register here.

Accessibility

If you choose to ride the metro, College Park Metro Station is conveniently located only a few minutes walk from the site. If you choose to drive, the race is located just inside the Capital beltway. Free parking is also available at the College Park Metro Station.

Packet Pickup Information

Packet pickup is available prior to the race as early as 7:00 AM. Kids' Race will start first at 8:15 AM, the 5K Race will begin 15 minutes later at 8:30 AM.

Facilities

Vendors and sponsors will have booths inside the Ellen Linson Swimming Pool. Restrooms will be available inside the Ellen Linson Swimming Pool as well. Coin lockers will be available at the race venue.

Water Stations

There is one water station strategically located at the 1.5 mile mark of the course. There will also be refreshments available at the finish line.

Post Race Events

Security & Assistance

If you need information or assistance, ask one of our volunteers, or stop by the Information Table located at the entrance of the Ellen Linson Swimming Pool.

Weather

The race and related activities will be held rain or shine. However, if there are extreme weather conditions, or other act of God, the race and activities will be canceled. If for this reason, the race and activities are canceled, there will be no refunds.
